Go off the beaten track and discover this incredible city derby in Morocco. The Casablanca Derby between Raja and Wydad is fast becoming one of the world’s great derbies. Where two social classes collide – and where you’ll see the outrageous choreo and tifos of Morocco’s ultras at their very best.

Morocco’s biggest city is hectic and business-minded. But on derby day it slows down to a crawl – with many businesses closing a few hours before kick-off. The game is usually moved to the city’s 80,000 capacity Mohammed V Stadium to accommodate the huge crowd. And you’ll be blown away by the noise and color brewing there hours before kick-off.

Raja vs Wydad is easily the biggest rivalry in Moroccan football, and the tension hangs in the air for days beforehand. When the game does arrive – the atmosphere is out of this world. With flags, colour, and smoke creating one hell of a scene.

You won’t see the Casablanca derby on many bucket lists. But if you want to experience a true hidden gem with so much energy it’ll blow you away – the Casa derby is a must-visit.  This 4 day Casablanca discovery tour gives you plenty of time to discover this bewitching city and includes city sightseeing, accommodation, airport transfers and your all-important match ticket.

Day 1 - Welcome to Casablanca

Today is gathering day, as adventurous fans from across the world arrive in Casablanca. Your Homefans driver will meet you at the airport, holding a sign with your name on it.

Once you check in to your hotel, you can drop your luggage and enjoy a good Maroccan coffee in a shop nearby!

The afternoon is free, and at night you'll meet your Homefans host in the hotel reception. He'll welcome you to his city and invite you to our first group dinner in a local restaurant.

Day 2 - Get to Know Beautiful Casablanca

Today's the day you'll really get to know Casablanca.

In the morning, you'll meet your local host at the hotel reception. Before heading to different parts of the city so you can understand Casa's culture. And of course, the tour will be sprinkled with football...wait and see!

You'll start by seeing some of the city's best architecture. Casablanca holds the most Art Deco of all of Morocco’s cities, which gives Casa a fresh and modern feel in contrast to the historic vibes of cities like Marrakech.

Then, you'll move to the artists area and culture scene and grab lunch in one of the best restaurants in town. Then we'll head to both Raja Casablanca and Wydad's core neighbourhoods to see the amazing murals dedicated to both clubs and their Ultras.

At night Casablanca has a host of fun options, with swanky cocktail places and jazz bars providing the ideal place to unwind after a busy day.

Day 3 - Match Day: Raja Casablanca x Wydad
Day 3 - Match Day: Raja Casablanca x Wydad

Match Day!

On Derby Day, the Stade Mohamed V turns into a cauldron as chants pierce the air and a sea of green smoke fills the sky. Thousands of both supporters don't stop jumping for a second, and the smoke and tifo will leave neutrals absolutely speechless.

And you'll experience it all like a local.

You'll meet your guide at around midday and head straight for the pre-match experience at Cafe Mazali - where Raja Casablanca fans meet and warm-up for the game. You'll be able to talk to the locals and see their fan culture from the inside as they prepare for this huge clash.

Then, we'll head to the stadium alongside Raja's fans and head to your seats in the stadium's long-side. Giving you a perfect view of the madness that unfolds every time these teams meet.

After the match, we'll head back and reserve a bar table for those who want to celebrate a great day with some drinks.

The Location

Will the stadiums be open in 2021/22? At what capacity?

Homefans believe that stadiums will be open to fans, however we cannot at this stage confirm what the capacity will be.  However our flexible booking policies mean that if the stadium will only accept 50% fans and you decide you only want to travel with 100% attendance you can swap to another venue or another date.

Will I need to prove I am vaccinated? Or show a negative test?

This will vary destination to destination and based on your nationality and age. Therefore Homefans are not able to advise on this.  Please check the foreign ministry of your destination and home country and the stadium requirements.  Again, if you find the requirements too much you can defer to later in the season/year when they relax further.

COVID-19 hasn’t gone away- should I still book?

We believe so, we all need something to look forward to.  But we understand that people may be apprehensive which is why we have created a flexible cancellation policy which means in the event that the event does not happen the amount paid simply becomes Homefans credit.

You can transfer this to a later date (with no time limit), transfer to another tour, or even give it to a friend. This flexibility also applies if you decide to cancel for any reason (as long as you give us 45 days notice)

Do I have to pay the full amount when I book?

No, you can secure your place with a deposit of just 30%, then pay the balance at least 4 weeks before your trip date depending on your destination.

Where in the stadiums will we be sitting?

If we know where you will be sitting we always mention this is in the inclusions section.

Unfortunately we are not always able to tell you that at the time of booking, however our destination managers work tirelessly to make sure you get the best seats. We always aim for the long side of the home supporters section.

How many people will be on the tour?

The maximum number of people the host will allow is stated above. However this number may not always be met and it may even be possible that your party is on the tour on your own. Higher numbers make for a more sociable experience, lower numbers make for more personalised attention from your host. Look at it as a win/win!

Can children / young adults join the tour?

If we can accept children there will be an option in the booking flow. However for many trips our local hosts take the decision, based on the content of the tour, to open this up to adults only. If you are looking to travel with under 18’s, please feel free to contact us and we can discuss your options.

Can you cater to dietary needs or requirements?

Our local hosts will do everything they can to cater to travellers’ needs. It’s a good idea to share your requirements at the time of booking so that our host is able to make the required preparations

Will I have to share a room?

In order to keep the costs low we always offer prices based on 2 sharing. If you make a booking for an odd number of people you or another member of your party may be paired with another traveller of the same sex. If you wish you may pay a supplement for a guaranteed single room. Simply make your booking as normal and get in touch with us to arrange this.
