Described as “the most ferocious Derby you’ve never heard of” the Budapest Derby may be one of the most explosive in all of Eastern Europe, a part of the world not lacking in fierce derbies.
Like most sporting rivalries, this goes far deeper than just two teams – the story of Ferencvárosi v Újpest is intertwined with politics, history and class. This fantastic 3 day trip to Budapest will allow you to discover this fascinating story and witness the spectacle first hand.
Outside of the football you will have time to explore the highlights of majestic Budapest which sits majestically across the River Danube. Great food, welcoming bars and much more await.
Accommodation and match tickets are included. You share this adventure with a small group of like-minded football fans and a local Budapest football host who will help you experience Budapest like a local.
Welcome to Budapest! Your local host will be waiting to welcome you at the groups hotel. We’ll be meeting for a beer bus experience to get to know each other. However the rest of you time today is at leisure and your local host will be able to recommend things to see and do based on your interests.
It's match day. Depending on the time of the match you will have some free time to explore before or after the match and your local host will be able to make some recommendations based on your interests.
We will meet up shortly before the match and head to the area surrounding the stadium to enjoy the pre match build up. After that we take our seats and await the main event.
Time to bid a farewell to your local host and fellow travellers and exchange contacts. Hopefully some new friendships for life. Time to say goodbye...until the next football adventure with Homefans.
No, you can secure your place with a deposit, then pay the balance at least 4 weeks before your trip date depending on your destination.
If we know where you will be sitting we always mention this is in the inclusions section.
Unfortunately we are not always able to tell you that at the time of booking, however our destination managers work tirelessly to make sure you get the best seats. We always aim for the long side of the home supporters section.
The maximum number of people the host will allow is stated above. However this number may not always be met and it may even be possible that your party is on the tour on your own. Higher numbers make for a more sociable experience, lower numbers make for more personalised attention from your host. Look at it as a win/win!
If we can accept children there will be an option in the booking flow. However for many trips our local hosts take the decision, based on the content of the tour, to open this up to adults only. If you are looking to travel with under 18’s, please feel free to contact us and we can discuss your options.
Our local hosts will do everything they can to cater to travellers’ needs. It’s a good idea to share your requirements at the time of booking so that our host is able to make the required preparations
In order to keep the costs low we always offer prices based on 2 sharing. If you make a booking for an odd number of people you or another member of your party may be paired with another traveller of the same sex. If you wish you may pay a supplement for a guaranteed single room. Simply make your booking as normal and get in touch with us to arrange this.
