My name is Filip and I'm a local host in Krakow for Homefans. I have been hosting several groups for 5 years now with Homefans and I would love to welcome you in my city to a game of Wisla Krakow!
Filip is a first rate host, keen to make sure we had the best time and willing to tailor the experience to suit whatever we wanted. We went for the authentic pre-match preparations involving a few drinks with his pals. They are a really welcoming group and we had lots of laughs and football talk before going to the ground.
The game itself was an exciting 2-2 draw with a controversial red card and the Wisła fans are properly passionate. It was an absolutely fantastic night.
If you've got some time in Krakow and enjoy football, don't hesitate, just treat yourself to this experience.
During a family break in Krakow, my teenage son and I booked a trip to a Wisla Krakow Europa Conference home game with Filip. Our host's pre-match communication was excellent and our rendezvous went without problems. We then proceeded to the ground, along with an entertaining group of Dutch lads (also on the tour) via the club shop and a local bar. Filip was an excellent host throughout this time. The match itself was great entertainment, with Filip prompting us with joining in with the home end chants.
At the end of the night (20 minutes to midnight due to the match finishing 12-11 to the home side on penalties!), Filip took us back to the original meeting point, where my son and I walked back to our hotel. Filip even checked after leaving us to ensure we got back safely.
My son thoroughly enjoyed his first taste of European football, Filip helping to make this a problem-free experience. I had a fantastic time too, and cannot speak highly enough of our host: Filip was friendly, entertaining and very organised throughout the evening. Massive thanks from the Argyle boys - maybe we'll see you at Home Park one day!

Wisla Krakow v Widzew Lodz, Cup QF - Weds 28th February, 2024 (8.30pm ko)
A wonderful experience with Filip & his friends, highly recommended!
As a solo visitor to Krakow & a big football fan I really wanted to take in the above game. I walked to the ground on Tues but was unable to purchase a ticket. Back in a bar I tried directly on the club website but still struggling, when the "Homefans" link appeared. Having read all the positive reviews, I thought why not, although a bit apprehensive I'll admit!
I need not have worried, after applying Filip was in touch soon enough advising a location to meet at 4.30pm on the day of the game. He was spot on time, we went & bought a few beers & went round the corner to his friend's apartment. Snacks were laid on, I was introduced to cherry vodka & over the next hour or so more of Filip's friends arrived & we talked football & other things. All were super friendly & photos taken etc.
We then got taxi's to their bar near the ground (my taxi driver had lived near my UK area for 15 years before returning to Poland, small world!). A few more drinks & a chat again, some of Filip's friends were into their darts like me! Even some of Filip's Lodz friends came in as well, all very jovial!
We then made the short walk to the ground, Filip made sure I got in ok & then we were up the stairs & in, great spot to the left of the goal at the home end!
What followed was an amazing football experience!
Filip said there were probably about 27,000 in but they made the noise of three times that many! A big flag was pushed above our heads at the start of the game, then after 10 mins the red flares went off, great photos of that! I don't remember sitting down much or not singing! Atmosphere was great.
The game itself was fairly even, but Lodz scored a penalty on 80 mins (after a VAR check that went on forever, or so it seemed, yes it's used in Poland too unfortunately!) & things were not looking good, I've cursed them I thought!
Then Filip advised there were SEVENTEEN minutes of injury time!! (Blame VAR!). In the very last of those Wisla got a free kick at our end, goalkeeper up etc. Ball cleared to the edge of the area, shot on & buried into the bottom corner!! Cue utter chaos that only a last minute goal can bring...I was jumped upon by about five people amidst all the celebrations! Shirts off seem to be a thing too! So 1-1 & into extra time (after another very nervous VAR check!)
Lodz had a goal disallowed in ET (still not sure why, but who cares!) then in the 118th minute with penalties beckoning, Wisla had a great move down their right, ball crossed in & slid home in the middle, at our end again! 2-1 !! Get in, cue more chaotic scenes! Final score 2-1 to Wisla.
Everyone was on a high so Filip got some more beers & we walked to a park area where we drank, chatted & exchanged more stories & photos! People drifted off home & Filip kindly got a taxi with me back into the Old town.
We got a takeaway & said our goodbyes, but not before Filip pointed me in the right direction for my hotel! I rolled in about 2.15am very tired but very happy! We swapped messages again to say goodnight.
That was not the end of Filip's kindness though! He checked I had made my tour the following morning (I did!) & also gave me a restaurant & beer house recommendation, which I duly followed up on that evening, both were great!
Filip - many thanks for your kindness & looking after me, plus all of your friends too, apologies but I cannot remember their names, told you I was useless at that! You are all a credit to your club & your fantastic city. Please pass on my thanks to them all.
I hope you enjoy continued success & Wisla win the Cup!!
Good luck with the best man duties as well !
Anyone wanting a great football experience in Krakow please get in touch with Filip!!
