Football is a pretty big deal here in the UK. In the north, Liverpool, Everton, Manchester United and Manchester City all play within roughly 30 miles of each other. Down in London, however, anyone would be forgiven for thinking it’s just one big footie fest, with no less than six Premier League and 4 Championship clubs calling the capital home!
Founded in 1879, Fulham FC is the oldest football club from London to play in the Football League. Located next to Bishop’s Park on the banks of the River Thames, Craven Cottage, was originally a royal hunting lodge and has a history dating back over 300 years.
Fulham supporters have played a vital role in the club’s long term stay at Craven Cottage. When the club moved temporarily to Loftus Road, a committee known as “Back to the Cottage” was formed, to ensure the club continued to play at their traditional home. Their fans pride themselves for being the original and oldest London club. And they are not wrong. The Cottagers are built more like a family and the way they usually operate is quite different from big and rich clubs, such as Chelsea.
In this amazing, local and authentic experience, you will meet an English Speaking Homefans Local Host at the Crabtree Pub, located in the beautiful River Thames. Over there, we will have a pint with local supporters and enjoy the pre-match experience with some good stories about the club and its rivalry.
Then, we will talk towards Craven Cottage, home of Fulham FC. Take a look at the old school entrance booth! Around the stadium, there will be time to buy some souvenirs, eat some street food, beers and listen to more stories from their fans. Then, our local host will escort to your seats safely and enjoy 90 minutes of a good football match!
After the game, our local host will assist you in taking the subway or recommend more pubs to extend your night and say Goodbye to our group!
