São Paulo is certainly a city with several traditional football clubs, from the smallest to the giants that figure in the elite. Discover a little more of the history of these great stadiums on this three-tour combo, which will immerse you in the culture of these clubs, the city and the country!
Our first stop will be at Pacaembu Stadium, which is the most historic and traditional of them all! Built in the 1940s, it was one of the main stadiums for the 1950 World Cup and since then has hosted games from several clubs in the city, with SC Corinthians being the club that played there most often. Conceived from the outset as a sports venue with multiple functions, such as cultural and leisure spaces, Pacaembu was Brazil’s largest stadium until the inauguration of Maracanã in 1950. Since 2011, it is also the home of the Football Museum.
At this tour, we will pass by the Charles Miller Square where Pacaembu is located. On tuesdays and thursdays happens a street fair, where you can find some of the stars of São Paulo’s gastronomic culture, such as sugarcane juice, pastel and coconut water. A great opportunity to get to know essential elements of Brazilian customs up close.
On the second stop we will go to one of newest stadium in the city and home of SE Palmeiras, Allianz Parque! Due to its modernity, the stadium is the stage for several events not related to football, such as musical concerts and others, but it certainly stands out for its use within the sport, being a hostile terrain for Palmeiras opponents. It opened in 2014, being built over the old Palmeiras stadium, Palestra Itália, which was demolished to make way for this modern multi-use arena.
After our walk through the Stadium, we can stop to enjoy a delicious tradicional pork sandwich nearby you will never forget, known to be the favorite spot for a pre or an after-game stop At Allianz Parque.
The last stop, but not least, is Estádio do Morumbi, home of São Paulo FC! Being the largest private stadium in Brazil, Morumbi carries the history of one of the biggest clubs in the country, with several and very important titles conquered here. The real name of the stadium honors Cícero Pompeu de Toledo, one of the greatest presidents in the history of São Paulo FC and a great enthusiast of the construction of the tricolor stadium.
After appreciating this immersion into sports and culture in São Paulo, I will be happy to escort you safely to the nearest metro station or to a safe point where you can call an Uber.
All tours include admission ticket, transport between locations and local host. During the tours, the most varied facilities of the stadiums are visited, such as changing rooms, press room, field, cabins, bleachers, trophy room, corridors where only the players have access and much more.
I look forward to seeing you on this adventure!
