Last update:  14 January

Hello – I am Juan, a lifelong fan of Newells Old Boys and Homefans host in Rosario.  Come with me and enjoy a vibrant game at “El Coloso del Parque”

Located right at the heart of the city of Rosario and in the green surroundings of Independencia Park, you can find Newell’s Old Boys stadium also known as “El Coloso del Parque”. This name is still in use nowadays , even though fans voted to change the name to Marcelo A. Bielsa in his honour in 2009 .

Many famous footballers from the club’s academy have represented Argentina at World Cups : Gabriel Batistuta, , Jorge Valdano, Gabriel Heinze, Roberto Sensini, Mauricio Pochettino, , among others. Lionel Messi also played in the club’s youths as well as Diego Maradona played for us in 1993.

After I pick you up , we will go to the Stadium surroundings to enjoy a pre-match appetizer like typical Choripan or the local “Carlito” sandwich together with some beers .

Once being warmed up with meals and chants , we will be ready for some action. I will distribute your tickets and escort you to the stand before game starts.

The stadium is always full of capacity and you can expect an amazing atmosphere! All visitors have love the Coloso s atmosphere!

When it finished, I will bring you back to meeting point.

Will the stadiums be open in 2022? At what capacity?

Argentina’s stadiums will return to 100% capacity in November 2021.  We cannot guarantee that restrictions will not return but we will keep all customers up to date on any developments.

Will I have to demonstrate I am vaccinated? Or show a negative test?

Argentina is in the process of reopening and a range of trials are underway, all of which involve checking customers vaccination status.  We have linked to these requirements above.  While the restrictions may ease we advise all customers looking to travel to Argentina to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19.

Is the match date confirmed?

Fixtures have been released however it is possible that Sunday matches will move to Saturday and vice-versa.  We advise you to consider this when making your wider travel plans.

How many people will be on the tour?

The maximum number of people the host will allow is stated above. However this number may not always be met and it may even be possible that your party is on the tour on your own. Higher numbers make for a more sociable experience, lower numbers make for more personalised attention from your host. Look at it as a win/win!

Can children / young adults join the tour?

If we can accept children there will be an option in the booking flow. However for many trips our local hosts take the decision, based on the content of the tour, to open this up to adults only. If you are looking to travel with under 18’s, please feel free to contact us and we can discuss your options.
