Overview

Hello everybody, I’m Rodrigo, and I want to invite you to my Homefans activity.

With more than 40`000,000 fans all around the world the Club Deportivo Guadalajara, better known as “Las Chivas´´, is one of the biggest Clubs of the continent.

Embrace yourself into the tradition of the most beloved and popular club of Mexico by attending to the Estadio Akron for a Liga MX game!

I´ll pick you up around 3 hours before the match starts and take you to a local restaurant/stand where like if it was a religious ritual, many “Rojiblancos´´ like me attend before every home game to have some traditional dishes of Guadalajara´s Mexican food as Tortas Ahogadas, Pozole, Birria, Tacos, Barbacoa estilo Jalisco, etc. After that,  on the way to the stadium you’ll be able to see some of the iconic sites of the football culture of the city while you relax and enjoy some courtesy beverages like some beer or soft drinks.

After the end of the game, I´ll drive you back to our agreed meeting point while you get some local advices according to your plans for that night.

FAQs

Will the stadiums be open in 2021/22? At what capacity?

Homefans believe that stadiums will be open to fans, however we cannot at this stage confirm what the capacity will be.  However our flexible booking policies mean that if the stadium will only accept 50% fans and you decide you only want to travel with 100% attendance you can swap to another venue or another date.

Will I need to prove I am vaccinated? Or show a negative test?

This will vary destination to destination and based on your nationality and age. Therefore Homefans are not able to advise on this.  Please check the foreign ministry of your destination and home country and the stadium requirements.  Again, if you find the requirements too much you can defer to later in the season/year when they relax further.

COVID-19 hasn’t gone away- should I still book?

We believe so, we all need something to look forward to.  But we understand that people may be apprehensive which is why we have created a flexible cancellation policy which means in the event that the event does not happen the amount paid simply becomes Homefans credit.

You can transfer this to a later date (with no time limit), transfer to another tour, or even give it to a friend. This flexibility also applies if you decide to cancel for any reason (as long as you give us 45 days notice)

Where in the stadium will we be sitting?

If we know where you will be sitting we always mention this is in the inclusions section.

Unfortunately we are not always able to tell you that at the time of booking, however our destination managers work tirelessly to make sure you get the best seats. We always aim for the long side of the home supporters section.

How many people will be on the tour?

The maximum number of people the host will allow is stated above. However this number may not always be met and it may even be possible that your party is on the tour on your own. Higher numbers make for a more sociable experience, lower numbers make for more personalised attention from your host. Look at it as a win/win!

Can children / young adults join the tour?

If we can accept children there will be an option in the booking flow. However for many trips our local hosts take the decision, based on the content of the tour, to open this up to adults only. If you are looking to travel with under 18’s, please feel free to contact us and we can discuss your options.

Is the match date confirmed?

Weekend matches can move from Saturday to Sunday and vice-versa.  We provide the current scheduled date but we would advise you only to book the matchday experience if you are available in the destination for the whole weekend.

A great experience

I recently attended the Guadalajara v Queretaro match with local host Rodrigo. It was a great experience and i can thoroughly recommend it. I was collected by Rodrigo from my hotel and taken to a local restaurant where we enjoyed a local sandwich and drink. The restaurant was opposite the Jalisco Stadium where they staged games during the 1970 and 1986 World Cups so i was interested to have a look at the outside of the stadium. It was quite a long drive from central Guadalajara to the Akron Stadium, but Rodrigo had a good supply of alcoholic beverages in his car for me and he was good in explaining everything about Las Chivas past and present. The Akron Stadium is very modern and there was ample parking. Once in the stadium it was great to soak up the atmosphere and listen to Rodrigo's thoughts on the players and the teams chances of victory. The game was not a classic but it was great to be in such a beautiful stadium and to experience football in a foreign country. After the game i was dropped off at my hotel having had a mini tour of the streets of Guadalajara. Home Fans took away all the stress of having to buy a ticket and find one's way to and from the stadium with the added benefit of being with a local who could explain everything about Las Chivas and Guadalajara.
