Hi, there!
If you are curious and ready to live a mixing sports experience, this is the right tour for you. My name is Lisa and I am a big fan of street cultures, such as hip hop disciplines and street art. Skating is a sport that makes people surf the street and can colour the concrete with its tricks and movements. I think it’s important to give our special meaning in the places, and skaters can do it. This is the reason why I like to show you one of my favourite places in Milan, where skate spirit, architecture and football coexist.
In this experience, you will discover a redeveloped district in Milan: the Portello district. In Milanese dialect, “Portell” means “little door”: the neighbourhood takes its name from the homonymous street that colleagues Sempione square to the city of Rho. This area was always interested by transformation: for example, the historic Alfa Romeo factory stood here until the middle of 80′. Then, in 1997 two exhibition centre of Fiera Milano were built here. In the 2000s was started a big urban regeneration project that gave birth at City Life district, Portello Parc and Gino Valle square, where we can find Casa Milan.
We will meet at Milan Domodossola train station. Then, we will walk until CityLife, and I will narrate you the evolution of this vibrant Milanese district. We will stroll until Fiera Milano City until the heart of our tour: Gino Valle square. Here, you will admire the Casa Milan building, headquarter of Milan Football Association. We will visit the Milan store where you can buy a souvenir of this amazing day.
In the square, we will admire local skaters, and you will learn all the curiosities about this sport. I will show you how an urban district designed for football fans can be transformed into a skater place. We will continue our tour until Portello Parc, where you will admire a stunning view of the city from a little hill.
After the tour we will toast with a fresh beer in a bar knows only by locals. Get ready for an exclusive tour in Milan!
