COVID-19 Travel Requirements

Travel looks a bit different at the moment, given the advice is ever-changing and will vary depending on where you live Homefans is not publishing specific information however we are linking here to the official Serbian Foreign Ministry where you will find the latest advice.

Currently Serbia has implemented a requirement that anyone out past 20h must prove they are vaccinated, have a negative test or has recovered from COVID-19.  We expect this to widen soon to be required at all times of day.

  • Experience the famous Eternal Derby
  • Learn about the rivalry and visit stadiums
  • Explore the Serbian capital with best local tips and guidance
  • Try authentic Serbian food and beers
  • Accommodation, match tickets, transfers, food and activities all included

Day 1 - Arrivals and Pub Night
Day 1 - Arrivals and Pub Night

Welcome to Belgrade, a city rich in history, warm-hearted people, delicious food, hectic football culture, and of course - the allmighty rakija. Day one is arrivals day. Airport transfer arranged by Homefans will take you to the hotel. Meet & greet with the local hosts and the rest of the group, check in and refresh. In no time our first group activity starts - the Pub Night. Get ready for a welcome beer from Homefans, and probably some more local beers to follow.

Day 2 - Stadium Tours and Serbian Dinner
Day 2 - Stadium Tours and Serbian Dinner

Who's up for some stadium tours at vintage grounds for breakfast? First, a private minibus picks us up and we head to the legendary Rajko Mitić stadium (still called Marakana informally) where we get a fantastic firsthand experience on a private tour which includes an official guide, trophy hall, pitch tour, and some surprises along the way. After coming by both the official club shop and the ultras shop, we continue our journey to get to know the Partizan stadium, an old school temple of football. Learn about the club's history in the trophy hall, take awesome photos on the pitch, touch the grass, feel like a Partizan player for a moment. A fully immersive football experience like no other. After visiting the club shop, you'll have some spare time for sightseeing and free activities. Make sure you have some rest and your stomach empty, because in the evening we meet in one of the oldest streets in Belgrade, the renowned Skadarlija, for an authentic Serbian Dinner. This gastronomic experience includes finger-licking food, inevitable Serbian rakija drink, and also local music bands to heat up the atmosphere even more. Feel the spirit of Belgrade and it's people!

Day 3 - Match Day
Day 3 - Match Day

Wake up and try to picture the madness that's coming up. This is not your regular match day. So spend your free time in the morning wisely. In the early afternoon, the group meets in a cozy pub for the warm up. Beers, expectations, tension in the air. The locals will share the latest news about the game, and also their own views and feelings about it. Arranged minibus will take us to the stadium to join the pre-game vibe and maybe catch a corteo. Homefans will have arranged the best seats for our group, from where all the action will be perfectly visible and at the same time close enough to keep your goose bumps for a while even after the last whistle. After the derby, our minibus will pick us up and take us back to our hotel. In a mood for more action (after the Eternal Derby, we doubt it)? No problem, you'll get the best tips, Belgrade has a lot to offer on any given night.

Day 4 - Time to say Goodbye

Will the stadiums be open in 2021/22? At what capacity?

Homefans believe that stadiums will be open to fans, however we cannot at this stage confirm what the capacity will be.  However our flexible booking policies mean that if the stadium will only accept 50% fans and you decide you only want to travel with 100% attendance you can swap to another venue or another date.

Will I need to prove I am vaccinated? Or show a negative test?

This will vary destination to destination and based on your nationality and age. Therefore Homefans are not able to advise on this.  Please check the foreign ministry of your destination and home country and the stadium requirements.  Again, if you find the requirements too much you can defer to later in the season/year when they relax further.

COVID-19 hasn’t gone away- should I still book?

We believe so, we all need something to look forward to.  But we understand that people may be apprehensive which is why we have created a flexible cancellation policy which means in the event that the event does not happen the amount paid simply becomes Homefans credit.

You can transfer this to a later date (with no time limit), transfer to another tour, or even give it to a friend. This flexibility also applies if you decide to cancel for any reason (as long as you give us 45 days notice)

Do I have to pay the full amount when I book?

No, you can secure your place with a deposit of just 30%, then pay the balance at least 4 weeks before your trip date depending on your destination.

Where in the stadiums will we be sitting?

If we know where you will be sitting we always mention this is in the inclusions section.

Unfortunately we are not always able to tell you that at the time of booking, however our destination managers work tirelessly to make sure you get the best seats. We always aim for the long side of the home supporters section.

How many people will be on the tour?

The maximum number of people the host will allow is stated above. However this number may not always be met and it may even be possible that your party is on the tour on your own. Higher numbers make for a more sociable experience, lower numbers make for more personalised attention from your host. Look at it as a win/win!

Can children / young adults join the tour?

If we can accept children there will be an option in the booking flow. However for many trips our local hosts take the decision, based on the content of the tour, to open this up to adults only. If you are looking to travel with under 18’s, please feel free to contact us and we can discuss your options.

Can you cater to dietary needs or requirements?

Our local hosts will do everything they can to cater to travellers’ needs. It’s a good idea to share your requirements at the time of booking so that our host is able to make the required preparations

Will I have to share a room?

In order to keep the costs low we always offer prices based on 2 sharing. If you make a booking for an odd number of people you or another member of your party may be paired with another traveller of the same sex. If you wish you may pay a supplement for a guaranteed single room. Simply make your booking as normal and get in touch with us to arrange this.

Super ervaring in Belgrado

Een fantastisch aantal dagen gehad in Belgrado met Ivan en Homefans. Alles was top geregeld, Ivan was een uitstekende host en de groep was erg gezellig. De derby was een fantastische beleving, een aanrader!

Great weekend in Belgrade

I joined the first Belgrade trip with my brother via Homefans. We had a great time in Belgrade with Ivan. He showed us around and made us welcome in his city, the seats in the stadium were great, the Serbian dinner was amazing and the group was also fun. Definitely recommended!

What a derby!

I went with Homefans to the Belgrade derby hosted by Ivan in 2018 and I absolutely loved it. An incredible city and amazing experience all around. Ivan was a great host and we enjoyed every minute of the trip!

Unbelievable atmosphere and a great city break

Had a tremendous time at March's Eternal Derby at the Marakana. I had always wanted to experience the atmosphere at this fixture and it didn't disappoint- one for any football fan's bucket list. The hosts were knowledgeable and genial and we really enjoyed exploring the city-the nightlife is really good and really cheap. The only thing missing was a goal so we will definitely be back to see how things measure up at the Partizan stadium!

The Eternal Derby > Eternal Memories

Our group attended the Eternal Derby with Homefans in March 2020 for the game at the Marakana stadium. The hosts were an encyclopedia of not only local, but international footballing knowledge and constantly answered our questions around the stadium, fan culture, the city of Belgrade etc. Belgrade has ranked as one of our favourite European cities with great bars and restaurants , whilst the private stadium tours and derby itself were superb. We've since booked for more trips with Homefans and will return one day for the Eternal Derby at the Partizan Stadium to see how it compares
