Krakow is one of Poland’s pearls. The old town is up there with the most beautiful city centres the world has to offer. Make sure you do not miss Wawel Castle either, if only to see the stunning cathedral. For those who are into their Steven Spielberg movies, visit Schindler’s Factory. Authentic food is best found in one of the city’s milk bars. During the Soviet era, staple Polish dishes were served here to keep the workforce well-fed. Little has changed, really: sizeable portions at friendly prices.

Friendly is not the word to describe the biggest match of the season between both clubs from Krakow. In history classes, we were all taught about wars as long-term affairs. One was famously named the Hundred Years’ War, coming in at 116 years in total including an armistice. Krakow goes to war twice a year, but only for ninety minutes at a time. Games between Wisla Krakow and Cracovia, two clubs only fifteen minutes apart on foot, get dubbed ‘Holy Wars’. Only if you go find out for yourself, you will discover that this intimidating title is not wrong. However: do not be scared. Trouble can be avoided by not looking for any, and other games involving the Krakow sides tend to pass by without incidents altogether. So join us with peace of mind!

Join one of our upcoming small group trips and experience a match beyond the 90 minutes. Already in Krakow and prefer to join for the day? Check out our matchday experiences. Welcome to Krakow, you’re invited.
