We were taken to the Velez vs San Martin match by Juan, along with his 12 year old daughter who was a real sweetie, and a Velez supporter ! Juan collected us from our hotel, and dropped us back after the match. It was a top night, and Velez won 1-0. We visited a ranch style restaurant before the match for empanadas (the best we tasted on our trip), visited the stadium store to buy the obligatory shirt, then to the stadium. Boy are the South Americans passionate supporters !! Great atmosphere, and I would repeat the experience in a heartbeat. Highly recommend. Thank you Juan for your company, and for making us feel safe in an unfamiliar environment.

Can highly recommend this trip to see a different side to Argentinian club football. Ramiro was a fantastic host who provided so many great insights. Lanus now has two new fans.
