Overview

There are few more colourful experiences than a trip to a match in the lower divisions, where the eccentricities of Argentinian football are everywhere.

The variety of grounds, the quality of the games, the fans, the history, the neighbourhoods and the pre games experiences in our lower divisions is undoubtedly the biggest charms of visiting these clubs.

From sleeping giants like Atlanta, Ferro or Quilmes to passionate and fierce clubs like All Boys, Chacarita and Nueva Chicago, all of them have one goal: to get that long awaited promotion.

Far from Top Flight Teams in Argentina, we can find the soul of the football passion: the fans from these clubs  have a sense of belonging to the neighborhood’s squad that no other teams have,  the resilience, the sacrifice, and the bravery can be felt in the atmosphere of these stadiums. The Argentinian Lower Leagues  games ( know as “El Ascenso”) have an inexplicable spirit that drives the beautiful game in all its expression.

This Lower Division Experience is on sale for the below teams:

Atlanta / Ferro /Defensores de Belgrano / Chacarita /All Boys / Nueva Chicago / Deportivo Morón

Upcoming Comfirmed Games

FAQs

Is Homefans responsible for the activity?

Even though we are a friendly bunch, we are not directly responsible for the activity.

We are a marketplace, which means we facilitate that travellers like yourself, take part in a sports experience offered by a fully-vetted local host who has enrolled on the platform.

The responsibility to carry out the activity relies exclusively on the local host. However, we as a marketplace and acting in the interests of everyone, supervise everything and facilitate  comms and support  when needed for a flawless experience.

Is the match date confirmed?

Whilst the fixture calendar has been released, final confirmed dates are usually announced 2weeks before the kick-off date, due to TV schedule and the AFA (Argentina Football Association) disposition. It is possible then, that Sunday matches will move to Saturday, Monday and vice-versa.  The local hosts will keep you posted in case there is a change.

When will I receive confirmation of the tour?

When you choose and pay for your an activity on the Homefans marketplace, you will receive a booking confirmation directly after the booking via email. In this confirmation, you will get all the details of your booking.

How will the host get in touch?

Once the booking is done, you will receive an order confirmation and the Homefans tech platform will notify the host about it. You can always chat with the host on the marketplace by clicking on the ‘ASK A QUESTION‘ button – you will send and receive messages you can check on your own dashboard with email notifications.

A few days prior to the game, the host will get in touch with you via Whatsapp to arrange the appropriate logistics.

How are the activities planned and executed?

The activities on the Homefans marketplace are designed and executed by fully-vetted locals that have been approved by Homefans.

All bookings made on Homefans are backed by our Buyer Guarantee so you have peace on mind when booking.

With more than 10,000+ customers , Homefans is one of the biggest specialised sports marketplaces in the world.

How many people will be on the tour?

The maximum number of people the host will allow is stated above.

However,  this number may not always be met and it may even be possible that your party is on the tour on your own.

Higher numbers make for a more sociable experience, lower numbers make for more personalised attention from your host. Look at it as a win/win!

What does an activity include?

An activity on the Homefans marketplace involves a fully-vetted host, who offers a specific experience around a sporting event (match day experience with a ticket for the game) or some other cultural experiences (walking tours, stadium & museum tours with a local, among others).

They last between 2 hours up to a whole day. Please check the inclusions in each activity on the “What’s Included‘ section.

Can I bring bags to the stadium?

We recommend not to bring bags and valuables to the stadia in Argentina. Just the bare minimum to be more comfortable during your experience.

Also, please restrain from wearing the away team’s colours as it will make it almost impossible to access the ground.

I might need to cancel - what shall I do?

If you foresee that you cannot longer attend the activity you booked, you can do it within the next 24 hours after your booking was done.

According to our Terms & Conditions, after the 24 hour window, the host cancellation policy applies, and it depends on each host.  Given that it involves tickets, it’s usually non-refundable.

If you have solid grounds on why you want to cancel, please get in touch with Homefans and we will facilitate the process with the local host.

Chacarita Juniors

We had Ramiro as a host in several games, including a lower league game (Chacarita Juniors). So this will be a catch-all review of Ramiro as a host for all our games. I'm not really sure what I can say to do justice to Ramiro. First and foremost I want to say that I have never met a man with such knowledge and passion of football. He even knew who was the goalkeeper when Norway beat Brazil in the world cup in 1998, something I'm not sure the average football supporter in Norway knows anymore. Ramiro truly lives and breathes football. He is also a very warm and friendly host. His deep knowledge of football and warm personality made our experience significantly better. We recommend him for anyone interested in experiencing football through the eyes of a true enthusiast. For the game itself, I would highly recommend visiting Chacarita Juniors. The atmosphere was great, with two ultras groups competing to out-sing each other. They're called the Millwall FC of Argentina. A statement that tells you that this is something you shouldn't want to miss.

San Telmo

It's a great to see La Bombonera and Monumental but if you are doing a trip to Argentina then you should take in a lower league game. I went with Ramiro to the infamous San Telmo. A very special experience. We got a cab to the game and the car was waiting for us after the game. We talked with some locals and soaked up the pre match parade. Unfortunately San Telmo lost the game but their fans kept singing and it was a real insight into a small local club in one of the more disadvantaged areas of Buenos Aires. Something I won't forget. Ramiro is a great host. Knowledgable and passionate about football. He was my local host on 3 different games and he is a top guy!

All Boys experience

After seeing some beautiful matches from the Primera Division, we went to a match from the lower division on Monday. All Boys v Brown the Adrogue. Actually we went without expectations but this was again great. We were lucky enough to have Ramiro as our host again. Before we ate a great burger and drank a few beers. Then to the relatively small stadium of All Boys. Great to see how fanatical everyone was here again. The experience ended perfectly because All Boys scored the winning goal with ten men just before time. We wouldn't have missed this, thank you so much again Ramiro!!
