My name is Filip and I'm a local host in Krakow for Homefans. I have been hosting several groups for 5 years now with Homefans and I would love to welcome you in my city to a game of Wisla Krakow!
The second matchday experience in Krakow saw us visit Cracovia vs Lechia Gdansk which had more importance for the away side.
We started the day off meeting a group in a pub around the centre, as well as our host Filip. We then took a 20 minute walk roughly to the stadium which was aligned with police wherever you look.
We took our seats which were on the long side quite close to the boisterous away fans.
Lechia Gdansk won the match 2-0 and it boosted their chances of survival, Cracovia fans did their best to support the team but they lacked quality on the pitch.
Overall I was satisfied with my experience in watching football in Poland and our host for the weekend Filip made things stress-free and was on hand to help with any queries and also to make sure that I had a great time.
I travelled to Krakow to watch Wisla Krakow vs Wisla Plock in which was a crucial match to determine the play off spots.
I met Filip who was our local host, as it was a bank holiday weekend we were unable to visit the local bars/pubs.
However, instead Filip introduced me to some of his friends and we had a few pre match drinks at their apartment.
We then made our way to the stadium to soak up the atmosphere.
Wisla Krakow took the lead with a penalty which we could barely see as the ultras set off pyrotechnics, I just remember celebrating!
The visitor’s equalised immediately from the restart and now we had a game on our hands.
Unfortunately Wisla Krakow lost the match 1-3. I enjoyed my first taste in experiencing Polish football and even more so the atmosphere was really good!
I would thoroughly recommend a Homefans trip with Filip!
A Wisla Krakow matchday is certainly an unbelievable experience that me, my mate and our dads were absolutely blown away by, the game itself was one Wisla should’ve won much more comfortably but they scraped home and the atmosphere was fantastic unlike anything we’d seen before. And then Flilip could not be a better host, he has a clear passion for sharing the love he has for his team and also helping us with tips for the rest of our stay in Krakow, I can’t speak highly enough of him. What a fantastic day! Filip’s English was also excellent.
We had a group of 17 of us go to the Wisla match this weekend and it was such a great experience. Filips communication was fantastic before the match, so we knew exactly where and when to meet. After meeting we had the chance to visit the club shop before we went to a local bar for a few beers and pizza. We were able to get to know Filip and his friend ,and also mingle with other fans. Filip then explained to us all what the plan was and what to expect at the ground. The match itself (1-0 to Wisla) was great fun. The non-stop chanting, clapping and cheering in the Ultra stand was an experience I'll never forget. After the match Filip took us to another bar where we continued our celebrations with other local fans before departing for our pre planned meal.
Overall it was an excellent experience made even better because Filip was hosting us. His passion for Krakow and Wisla are clear and I would recommend to anyone to go to a match. Thanks again!
Managed to catch a game with Wisla Karkow in the Conference League. Great communication from Filip as the schedule was changing constantly. We met at a friend of Felip's apartment where I was "harassed" for buying some rubbish Polish beer, tata or something I think. 6 tata's and a few vodkas later we were at the ground. Everything was perfect. Felip and his friends are great hosts and very obvious to see how much they love their club! Despite the result the fans were in full voice throughout. Thanks so much Felip, Krakow is a great city with an even better football team.
