Overview

San Lorenzo is one of the 5 “BIG” teams in Argentina.

San Lorenzo de Almagro, is one of the hallmarks of Argentina. And the biggest for me. Big for its titles and even bigger for its people, ‘los cuervos’ (‘the ravens’) as we are called.

“ESCUELA DE TABLONES” (crowd’s school).

San Lorenzo has the best fans you will ever see, its crowd is known by others as “ESCUELA DE TABLONES” (crowd’s school). In Maradona’s words: “The most ingenious fans.” And that is what makes a San Lorenzo match a special one.

A LA CANCHA VOY, A VER AL CICLÓN… ♫♫

You are invited to come and see one firsthand. To live it as a true Argentine, to feel the passion, and to have a true taste of Latin American culture. Hopefully, you will come back home with some raven feathers.

FAQs

Is Homefans responsible for the activity?

Even though we are a friendly bunch, we are not directly responsible for the activity.

We are a marketplace, which means we facilitate that travellers like yourself, take part in a sports experience offered by a fully-vetted local host who has enrolled on the platform.

The responsibility to carry out the activity relies exclusively on the local host. However, we as a marketplace and acting in the interests of everyone, supervise everything and facilitate  comms and support  when needed for a flawless experience.

Is the match date confirmed?

Whilst the fixture calendar has been released, final confirmed dates are usually announced 2weeks before the kick-off date, due to TV schedule and the AFA (Argentina Football Association) disposition. It is possible then, that Sunday matches will move to Saturday, Monday and vice-versa.  The local hosts will keep you posted in case there is a change.

When will I receive confirmation of the tour?

When you choose and pay for your an activity on the Homefans marketplace, you will receive a booking confirmation directly after the booking via email. In this confirmation, you will get all the details of your booking.

How will the host get in touch?

Once the booking is done, you will receive an order confirmation and the Homefans tech platform will notify the host about it. You can always chat with the host on the marketplace by clicking on the ‘ASK A QUESTION‘ button – you will send and receive messages you can check on your own dashboard with email notifications.

A few days prior to the game, the host will get in touch with you via Whatsapp to arrange the appropriate logistics.

How are the activities planned and executed?

The activities on the Homefans marketplace are designed and executed by fully-vetted locals that have been approved by Homefans.

All bookings made on Homefans are backed by our Buyer Guarantee so you have peace on mind when booking.

With more than 10,000+ customers , Homefans is one of the biggest specialised sports marketplaces in the world.

How many people will be on the tour?

The maximum number of people the host will allow is stated above.

However,  this number may not always be met and it may even be possible that your party is on the tour on your own.

Higher numbers make for a more sociable experience, lower numbers make for more personalised attention from your host. Look at it as a win/win!

What does an activity include?

An activity on the Homefans marketplace involves a fully-vetted host, who offers a specific experience around a sporting event (match day experience with a ticket for the game) or some other cultural experiences (walking tours, stadium & museum tours with a local, among others).

They last between 2 hours up to a whole day. Please check the inclusions in each activity on the “What’s Included‘ section.

Can I bring bags to the stadium?

We recommend not to bring bags and valuables to the stadia in Argentina. Just the bare minimum to be more comfortable during your experience.

Also, please restrain from wearing the away team’s colours as it will make it almost impossible to access the ground.

I might need to cancel - what shall I do?

If you foresee that you cannot longer attend the activity you booked, you can do it within the next 24 hours after your booking was done.

According to our Terms & Conditions, after the 24 hour window, the host cancellation policy applies, and it depends on each host.  Given that it involves tickets, it’s usually non-refundable.

If you have solid grounds on why you want to cancel, please get in touch with Homefans and we will facilitate the process with the local host.

Brilliant Host!

I had the absolute pleasure of Ignacio looking after us for the San Lorenzo v Estudiantes game on 13th February. His knowledge of the team and surrounding area was first class and there wasn't a moment where things didn't feel organised, relaxed and enjoyable. Given this was my Day 1 in Buenos Aries, I massively appreciated the help and guidance that he gave me over the following days in terms of getting tickets to other games around the city. I can't think Ignacio enough - I'd booked a 'host' but ended up with someone I could class as a friend.

Feb 13 – San Lorenzo V Estudiantes de la Plata

Ignacio hosted 3 of us for the Feb 13, 2004 match between San Lorenzo V Estudiantes de la Plata. Ignacio did an excellent job of communicating with all of us prior to match and selecting a convenient meeting place. He safely guided us to the San Lorenzo stadium and back. When we returned to the meeting place, he had transportation arranged to return us to our hotels. The match itself was exciting and a unique experience among the boisterous but behaved San Lorenzo fans. Ignacio shared with us information about the team and barrio. I would recommend both the experience and the host Ignacio to others.

A great part of the Argentina experience!

My wife and I had a great time watching San Lorenzo with Facu and his brother. Even before the game, Facu was very responsive and answered all my questions on WhatsApp. Meeting up at our hotel and getting to the game were super easy. Despite the area around the ground being not the nicest, we always felt safe with Facu and the fellow ASLA fans! The atmosphere in the stadium is really unique with the fans singing, dancing and staying behind the team even though it was a pretty deflating 0-2 defeat against Argentinos Juniors. We can only imagine how crazy the atmosphere would’ve been if they scored a goal, let alone win a game!! Overall, we highly recommend going to a San Lorenzo game with Facu as it will be a memorable part of any trip to Buenos Aires. Cheers guys for this experience!

San Lorenzo! One of the "Big 5" teams that everyone should visit definitely. Despite that the match (San Lorenzo - Cordoba) was held on a Monday afternoon 17:00, the stadium was pretty much packed and the atmosphere was great. Juan guided us safely towards the stadium from the meeting point and afterwards from the stadium to the next meeting point, since we were seeing another match straight after San Lorenzo. Since the neighbourhood of San Lorenzo is pretty rough for (non)-locals. Juan ensured that we were all safe before, during and after the match. He is also very passionate and told us a lot of things about the history of San Lorenzo. Can definitely recommend Juan as a host if you want to see San Lorenzo matches in the future.

San Lorenzo v Central Cordoba

Faucundo was great from the moment we arrived to the moment we left, guiding us safely through the neighborhood like a true local. It is a stadium and atmosphere with a great character! Everyone should go to a San Lorenzo game if they are visiting Buenos Aires.

Hakon, it was a pleasure to meet you and share our passion for football, especially considering that you came from so far away. I hope you have taken a piece of San Lorenzo with you!

San Lorenzo V Colon

Went to see the San Lorenzo game with my partner and loved every minute of it and the experience. Facundo was brilliant, with a good meeting spot and a walk in the crowds to the stadium and easy entry. The atmosphere was superb and felt safe within the stadium with our seats having a great view of the whole game. Additionally, Facundo knew where to go and where not to go post-game which made us feel a lot more secure. Would definitely recommend to any one else visiting Buenos Aires.

Thank you very much James! It wasn't the most exciting game, but I believe that the people and the atmosphere made up for it as always. I'm glad you enjoyed it. Abrazo!

Authentic Fun with Facu

Facu did a great job in ensuring our small group were well treated and comfortably seated. After a walk around the San Lorenzo spiritual home and original ground we had a walk to the current ground. It was less frenetic than Boca and River in terms of getting in to the ground, but once there it was just as passionate, and the songs and support for the team flowed long before and after the game - even the bus back to the hotel was bouncing with the home fans singing after the last-gasp winner. Well done to Facu; I recommend trying out San Lorenzo for a game whilst in Buenos Aires.

Excellent

Excellent guide. Gave good history of the club. Got us safely to the ground and explained the songs the crowd were singing. After the game he saw us back to the hotel. Very enjoyable day out. Thoroughly recommend Facundo as a guide.
