My name is Christian I am 42 years old I was born and lived in Pisa but I feel like a citizen of the world. Since I was 5/6 years old I have loved soccer, I played it until I was 14 years old and even some time ago after years I had started again and together with friends we had created a 5-a-side soccer team and participated in the championships of the city.
I am a big fan of my city's team, Pisa Sporting Club, and i also support Inter Milan.
My first experience at the Arena Garibaldi stadium, later renamed Arena Romeo Anconetani (in honor of one of the greatest and most iconic presidents in the history of the club) and now for sponsor issues Cetilar Arena, dates back to 1991 when i attended my first match, Pisa - Inter ended 0 to 1 with a goal by Nicola Berti.
From there on, I fell in love ,and growing up I moved to the Curva Nord, the warm and passionate seat of the fans where every game with choruses, drums, choreographies we support the team in good and bad times.
Unfortunately, I experienced two failures of Pisa, in 1994 and 2009 where both times we had to start again from the minor leagues.
Despite this, we fans never failed to support the team until, like any self-respecting Christmas story in December 2016, Pisa was bought by the current club and presidency. Through ups and downs and a few years in the third tier (Serie C) we win a stable place in Serie B and even play a final match with the Monza of then president Silvio Berlusconi to move up in category to Serie A. Unfortunately, we lose and after an unexciting year in terms of results, this year thanks mainly to the technical guidance of former player and 2006 world champion Filippo Inzaghi, we are in second place and fighting for direct promotion in Serie A.
This introduction to make it clear how much we Pisani care about the team of our city, in fact we are called “Popolo Pisano,” united as in the days of our glorious history during the period of the Maritime Republics.
