As with for many of its neighbours, football is a way of life in Colombia. Even through turbulent times, football has been able to unite people. Discover Colombia’s passion for football and delve into the fascinating and alluring history and culture on this two-centre Colombia football tour.
Start your adventure with 6 days in Medellin. Nestled in a fertile valley, Medellin’s rocky past needs no introduction and we will find out more during our time here; however we focus on the football and two of Colombia’s finest clubs; Deportivo Indepentiente Medellin (DIM) and Athletico Nacional. We will have a matchday experience at both clubs and will even watch a training session for Athletico Nacional. We will also take a day trip to the spectacular town of Guatape.
We spend our last 5 days in the Andean city of Bogota – one of the most high-altitude capitals in the world. We have a matchday experience at the mighty Millionarios as well as a trip to Montserrat and a chance to play a traditional game of Tejo with locals.
Accommodation, matches and sightseeing are all included in the price. In each city you will be with an expert local host who is both an ambassador for their city and a passionate football fan – they will help you have a truly local, authentic experience. Plus you will share this trip with a small group of like-minded football fans, creating an experience which is enjoyable, memorable and connected.

Another matchday. Today, along with 40,000 other fans we head to the Estadio Atanasio Girardot for a Atletico Nacional matchday – and we are going to make sure you have the full experience. We will meet up with the home fans to enjoy all the pre-match build up, along with some drinks and local food, before taking our seats for the main event.
Today is all about getting under the skin of Medellín; we will take a sightseeing tour of the city and discover how it has transformed from one of the most dangerous cities on earth to one of the most forward-looking and creative.
One particular area of Medellín, a neighbourhood called Comuna 13, also known as San Javier, has the most tumultuous history of the city, once labelled the most dangerous community due to its astronomical homicide rates and its forced displacement of thousands of residents. It is now a redeveloped, vibrant area known for its street art.
No trip to Antioquia is complete without at least a day spent wandering through the colourful streets of Colombia's most colourful town. Guatapé is the perfect place to visit to get away from the hustle and bustle of Medellín. The main reason that people visit Guatapé is to climb the famous Rock of Guatapé – also known as El Peñol Rock – to enjoy the spectacular panoramic view of the surrounding islands and lakes of the artificial Guatapé reservoir.
Together with @travelsandsports, we have some more suggestions to get to know the culture and history of these two beautiful cities.
