Overview

Are you ready to experience Krakow’s Holy War?  Visitors flock to Krakow for its grand medieval squares, groovy bar scene and World War II history. And the football? Well, it’s definitely worth the trip.

This 3 day trip will be led by one of our very best Krakow football guides – passionate about both their city and football they will ensure you experience Krakow in a way other tours cannot.

Krakow is home to Wisla and Cracovia – two ancient clubs with fearsome fans and a rivalry which makes for a powerful Krakow derby known as The Holy War.

You’ll experience Poland’s fiercest city derby through the local eyes of the Cracovia fans.  Your local host will be a Cracovia fan and you will enjoy the pre-match build-up with the Wisla supporters. See what happens when two of Europe’s most notorious supporter groups go head to head.

Your 3 day trip to the Krakow derby includes accommodation, match tickets, some meals, a stadium tour and of course the guidance of the Homefan’s local host to help you discover Krakow like a local. Plus you’ll be joined by a small group of like-minded sports fans to create an experience which is connected, memorable and enjoyable.

The Holy War isn’t for the faint-hearted. But if you want to experience a city derby with smoke, fire, and a whole lot of history, you can’t beat this trip to Krakow.

Book with total flexibility and security.

Homefans and their local hosts are now taking 2021/22 bookings for the Krakow Derby – for the below dates:

Cracovia v Wisla Krakow.  Saturday 30 April 2022.  (First day of the tour will be Friday 29 April)

You can secure your place with a 30% deposit and should circumstances change this becomes credit for any future trip. For more information about our flexible policies scroll down to read our FAQs or visit our Book with Confidence page.

Note:  it is possible that the match will move to Sunday – therefore we suggest you book a flight which leaves Krakow as late as possible on Sunday night.  If no late flights are available, or in order to make the experience more relaxed you can also book an additional night under “extras” – the rate is per person and will be on a twin share basis.

FAQs

Will the stadiums be open in 2021/22? At what capacity?

Homefans believe that stadiums will be open to fans, however we cannot at this stage confirm what the capacity will be.  However our flexible booking policies mean that if the stadium will only accept 50% fans and you decide you only want to travel with 100% attendance you can swap to another venue or another date.

Will I need to prove I am vaccinated? Or show a negative test?

This will vary destination to destination and based on your nationality and age. Therefore Homefans are not able to advise on this.  Please check the foreign ministry of your destination and home country and the stadium requirements.  Again, if you find the requirements too much you can defer to later in the season/year when they relax further.

COVID-19 hasn’t gone away- should I still book?

We believe so, we all need something to look forward to.  But we understand that people may be apprehensive which is why we have created a flexible cancellation policy which means in the event that the event does not happen the amount paid simply becomes Homefans credit.

You can transfer this to a later date (with no time limit), transfer to another tour, or even give it to a friend. This flexibility also applies if you decide to cancel for any reason (as long as you give us 45 days notice)

Do I have to pay the full amount when I book?

No, you can secure your place with a deposit of just 30%, then pay the balance at least 4 weeks before your trip date depending on your destination.

Where in the stadiums will we be sitting?

If we know where you will be sitting we always mention this is in the inclusions section.

Unfortunately we are not always able to tell you that at the time of booking, however our destination managers work tirelessly to make sure you get the best seats. We always aim for the long side of the home supporters section.

How many people will be on the tour?

The maximum number of people the host will allow is stated above. However this number may not always be met and it may even be possible that your party is on the tour on your own. Higher numbers make for a more sociable experience, lower numbers make for more personalised attention from your host. Look at it as a win/win!

Can children / young adults join the tour?

If we can accept children there will be an option in the booking flow. However for many trips our local hosts take the decision, based on the content of the tour, to open this up to adults only. If you are looking to travel with under 18’s, please feel free to contact us and we can discuss your options.

Can you cater to dietary needs or requirements?

Our local hosts will do everything they can to cater to travellers’ needs. It’s a good idea to share your requirements at the time of booking so that our host is able to make the required preparations

Will I have to share a room?

In order to keep the costs low we always offer prices based on 2 sharing. If you make a booking for an odd number of people you or another member of your party may be paired with another traveller of the same sex. If you wish you may pay a supplement for a guaranteed single room. Simply make your booking as normal and get in touch with us to arrange this.
