Join us in Stockholm for a city derby that will blow you away.
You might have thought Sweden was all pretty women and flatpack furniture.
But fans are starting to see Sweden for what it really is – one of Europe’s most explosive football cultures.
Stockholm is the epicentre of this. And when the city’s biggest clubs collide, things escalate to a level rarely seen on European shores.
Hammarby and AIK are two of Scandinavia’s biggest and best-supported clubs. But this is more than a sporting rivalry. It’s territorial too.
Hammarby see the southern portion of Stockholm as their heartland. While AIK command vast support in the city’s northeast.
So what can you expect when they clash?
Well, there’ll be a sell-out crowd of around 40,000 for starters. There’ll be smoke and pyro a plenty. And there will be times you can’t hear yourself think.
To put it bluntly, you’ll witness something you never thought Swedish football would or could deliver. It’s that good.
Your weekend will be led by Mikael – a third generation Hammarby fan who has been showing us his culture for many years.
Mikael will take you to right to the core of Stockholm’s football scene. Making you feel completely at home and giving you the chance to eat, drink, sing, and experience Swedish football like a local.
The secret’s starting to get out. But you can witness Stockholm’s derby while it’s still raw and completely authentic.
Welcome to Stockholm!
A city rich in history, amazing people and of course, an intense football culture.
Day one is arrivals day. Where you'll meet your local hosts and other football fans from around the globe.
You can start by taking some time to explore the city and try some of the local food. Before meeting again for our first group activity - a drinks night at a local pub your guide knows well.
You'll taste the best local beers, meet local fans, and maybe even keep going to one of the city's great nightclubs. The night is young!
Wake up and try to imagine the madness that's coming up. Because this isn't your regular match day.
In the morning, you'll meet Mikael - one of the most passionate Hammarby fans you could ever meet.
He'll take you to the official "warm-up" bar of the local Hammarby supporters. Which is sure to be full of beer, expectation, and derby day tension. Here the locals will share stories about their passion for Hammarby and get you in the mood for what comes next.
You'll then walk to the stadium alongside the hardcore Hammarby supporters and take your place in your seats. Where you'll be perfectly located to see the action on the pitch and from both sets of supporters.
You can expect incredible tifos, tonnes of pyro, and an atmosphere you'll find hard to beat anywhere else on earth.
After the derby, we'll head back to drink a few more beers and hopefully celebrate a Hammarby win!
Back to normality. After an epic derby day, it's time to pack your bags and exchange numbers with your new friends from the group. It's time to say goodbye...but only until your next derby day adventure with Homefans!
No, you can secure your place with a deposit, then pay the balance at least 4 weeks before your trip date depending on your destination.
If we know where you will be sitting we always mention this is in the inclusions section.
Unfortunately we are not always able to tell you that at the time of booking, however our destination managers work tirelessly to make sure you get the best seats. We always aim for the long side of the home supporters section.
The maximum number of people the host will allow is stated above. However this number may not always be met and it may even be possible that your party is on the tour on your own. Higher numbers make for a more sociable experience, lower numbers make for more personalised attention from your host. Look at it as a win/win!
If we can accept children there will be an option in the booking flow. However for many trips our local hosts take the decision, based on the content of the tour, to open this up to adults only. If you are looking to travel with under 18’s, please feel free to contact us and we can discuss your options.
Our local hosts will do everything they can to cater to travellers’ needs. It’s a good idea to share your requirements at the time of booking so that our host is able to make the required preparations
In order to keep the costs low we always offer prices based on 2 sharing. If you make a booking for an odd number of people you or another member of your party may be paired with another traveller of the same sex. If you wish you may pay a supplement for a guaranteed single room. Simply make your booking as normal and get in touch with us to arrange this.
