COVID-19 Travel Requirements

Travel looks a bit different at the moment, given the advice is ever-changing and will vary depending on where you live Homefans is not publishing specific information however for entry to Portugal we are linking here to the Portuguese Tourist Board where you will find the latest advice.

For entry to the stadium you will need to prove you are double vaccinated using an EU approved COVID pass.

Experience Portugal’s biggest football rivalry like a local in the sun-drenched capital city.  Lisbon’s blend of cosmopolitan atmosphere, welcoming bars, enviable weather and passion for the game make it a great choice for a football city break.

Benfica v Porto isn’t just a clash between Portugal’s two biggest clubs. It’s north vs south. Capital city vs second city. And everything that comes with it. Locals say this rivalry sums up Portuguese life as a whole. Where different views on history, politics, and life are exaggerated by the emotions of matchday.

On this trip to O’Classico in Lisbon you will be joined by a small group of like-minded football fans and a local football host who will help you experience Lisbon like a local.  These come together to make a football trip which is more memorable, connected and enjoyable.  Your match ticket is included as is 2 nights accommodation.

This is one of our most popular trips every season. So you better be quick!

Will the stadiums be open in 2021/22? At what capacity?

Homefans believe that stadiums will be open to fans, however we cannot at this stage confirm what the capacity will be.  However our flexible booking policies mean that if the stadium will only accept 50% fans and you decide you only want to travel with 100% attendance you can swap to another venue or another date.

Will I need to prove I am vaccinated? Or show a negative test?

This will vary destination to destination and based on your nationality and age. Therefore Homefans are not able to advise on this.  Please check the foreign ministry of your destination and home country and the stadium requirements.  Again, if you find the requirements too much you can defer to later in the season/year when they relax further.

COVID-19 hasn’t gone away- should I still book?

We believe so, we all need something to look forward to.  But we understand that people may be apprehensive which is why we have created a flexible cancellation policy which means in the event that the event does not happen the amount paid simply becomes Homefans credit.

You can transfer this to a later date (with no time limit), transfer to another tour, or even give it to a friend. This flexibility also applies if you decide to cancel for any reason (as long as you give us 45 days notice)

Do I have to pay the full amount when I book?

No, you can secure your place with a deposit of just 30%, then pay the balance at least 4 weeks before your trip date depending on your destination.

Where in the stadiums will we be sitting?

If we know where you will be sitting we always mention this is in the inclusions section.

Unfortunately we are not always able to tell you that at the time of booking, however our destination managers work tirelessly to make sure you get the best seats. We always aim for the long side of the home supporters section.

How many people will be on the tour?

The maximum number of people the host will allow is stated above. However this number may not always be met and it may even be possible that your party is on the tour on your own. Higher numbers make for a more sociable experience, lower numbers make for more personalised attention from your host. Look at it as a win/win!

Can children / young adults join the tour?

If we can accept children there will be an option in the booking flow. However for many trips our local hosts take the decision, based on the content of the tour, to open this up to adults only. If you are looking to travel with under 18’s, please feel free to contact us and we can discuss your options.

Can you cater to dietary needs or requirements?

Our local hosts will do everything they can to cater to travellers’ needs. It’s a good idea to share your requirements at the time of booking so that our host is able to make the required preparations

Will I have to share a room?

In order to keep the costs low we always offer prices based on 2 sharing. If you make a booking for an odd number of people you or another member of your party may be paired with another traveller of the same sex. If you wish you may pay a supplement for a guaranteed single room. Simply make your booking as normal and get in touch with us to arrange this.
