Liverpool lives for one thing – football. And there’s no better way to experience this than a visit to the Merseyside Derby.

Liverpool-Everton used to be called the Friendly Derby. While this is true in many respects, don’t let the name fool you.

This is a fiery city rivalry between two sets of fans that love giving each other stick.

Reds fans are quick to remind the Blues of how long it’s been since Everton won a trophy. While Everton fans hit back by saying they are ‘born not manufactured’ – a reference to Liverpool’s international fanbase.

Despite the Reds’ global appeal, the Merseyside derby is a local affair. And on derby day, the city buzzes with anticipation.

As for you, you’ll head for a few pints in The Sandon near Anfield. To get the adrenaline pumping and prepare yourself for the moment You’ll Never Walk Alone starts pounding out from the Kop.

This age-old derby is truly magical. And you can experience it like a local with Homefans.

2022/23 now on sale!

Provisional date for this game is  11.02.2023, but this may be subject to minor changes, due to TV broadcasting.  Feel free to message us, if you are interested!

The Location

Do I have to pay the full amount when I book?

No, you can secure your place with a deposit, then pay the balance at least 4 weeks before your trip date depending on your destination.

Where in the stadium will we be sitting?

If we know where you will be sitting we always mention this is in the inclusions section.

Unfortunately we are not always able to tell you that at the time of booking, however our destination managers work tirelessly to make sure you get the best seats. We always aim for the long side of the home supporters section.

How many people will be on the tour?

The maximum number of people the host will allow is stated above. However this number may not always be met and it may even be possible that your party is on the tour on your own. Higher numbers make for a more sociable experience, lower numbers make for more personalised attention from your host. Look at it as a win/win!

Can children / young adults join the tour?

If we can accept children there will be an option in the booking flow. However for many trips our local hosts take the decision, based on the content of the tour, to open this up to adults only. If you are looking to travel with under 18’s, please feel free to contact us and we can discuss your options.

Can you cater to dietary needs?

Our local hosts will do everything they can to cater to travellers’ needs. It’s a good idea to share your requirements at the time of booking so that our host is able to make the required preparations

Will I have to share a room?

In order to keep the costs low we always offer prices based on 2 sharing. If you make a booking for an odd number of people you or another member of your party may be paired with another traveller of the same sex. If you wish you may pay a supplement for a guaranteed single room. Simply make your booking as normal and get in touch with us to arrange this.

Merseyside derby April 24 2022

My second trip with Homefans and again it was amazing. Liverpool is a great city! Lots of things to do. On Saturday we visited Southport FC v. Spennymoor in the National League North. On Sunday we experienced a great matchday. First a tour around Goodison Park and then a 5 minute walk through Stanley Park towards Anfield. Great spots in Kenny Dalglish Upper Stand. This weekend there was no local Homefans present, but Ivan of Homefans guided us perfectly and was constantly available trough WhatsApp. Great experience!

Merseyside Derby met Homefans

Mijn derde trip via Homefans, 5 januari 2020 Merseyside derby.
