Italians love their derbies. They have loads of them. City derbies (Milan, Turin, Roma, Genoa), region derbies (Palermo-Catania), and even derbies that have nothing to do with either city or region but only with the fact that Italians love derbies. One of them is the derby between Inter Milan and Juventus.
Even though Inter Milan kind of lost their football lately, matches against Juventus are always special and thrilling to watch. A historical rivalry between two of the most titled Italian clubs that the fans of Calcio A better know as the “Derby d’Italia”, as proclaimed by the Italians themselves.
27 – 29 April 2019 | 10 spots available for this trip
Not only do we spend countless hours planning the best itineraries, but we also try to curate groups of similar travelers to give everyone the best experience possible. We even send out a roster of everyone on the trip so you know who your travel buddies will be for your time in Milan.
These are not pre-scripted, every minute scheduled “group tours.” or match breaks. We don’t script. We plan. So you don’t have to. And then we have a really, really good time. You can expect chill vibes, new friends and great times. We run each trip as if we were traveling with our own group – because, by the end of it, we are.
No city is in thrall to the beautiful people like Milan. A love of luxury permeates the place, from haute couture and fine dining to cutting-edge design. This is also the home of opera, and amid the warren of cobbled streets that fans out from the graceful Duomo cathedral, there remains a palpable sense of history and charm. Also home of Italy’s biggest football clubs Inter Milan and AC Milan.
We will meet you at your top location for accommodation. Now it is time either to rest or drop your bags and go have a nice walk around Piazza del Duomo. The square marks the center of the city, both in a geographic sense and because of its importance from an artistic, cultural, and social point of view.
A few meters from there, we invite you to join us on a very traditional Italian dinner, in a place that only locals go. Believe us, they are crazy about food, and we a pretty sure you are going to love it! Later on, we’ll take you to a neighborhood where we can find the best bars in town, drink some birras and why not extend to some of the best Italian nightclubs?!
Matchday! The Derby Della Italia is more than a regular fixture. It is a tradition and a major sporting attraction. It is also a rivalry of unique complexity, one that has meant many different things over the years since the foundation of the two clubs that comprise it.
The match is one without the political and religious differences ingrained in other derbies around the world. Instead, it has been a rivalry defined primarily by simpler sporting merits, built on a mutual unrelenting desire for trophies and prestige.
After the match, we recommend having an Italian dinner to tell the great stories about the day we had. And for the brave ones, why not extend the night to a bar and enjoy the good Milan nightlife?!
On the final day of our football weekend, the best way of ending an amazing weekend is to sit down in on the best squares in the city, and enjoy a tasty pizza, sharing the great stories of the day before! After that, we believe it is time to say goodbye, pack your stuff and go back home with unforgettable memories! Skip the touristic routes and tick off one of the biggest derbies in Italy off the beaten path.
During your weekend, you will be staying in a quality 3* hotel in the center of Milan (Twin Room) with daily breakfast included. The accommodation is a traditional standard room, air-conditioned and equipped with a private bathroom. Only accommodations where we ourselves would love to wake up will make it to the final cut.
