Hamburg – a truly amazing city where you’ll find endless fun, countless bars, and fascinating neighbourhoods around every corner. Where everyone can find their crowd and cut loose.
Talking of crowds, Hamburg is also home to one of the most symbolic rivalries in football.
One one side, you have HSV. A massive club with six German championships and a European title. While on the other you have St Pauli – a club from Hamburg’s wildest party neighbourhood who hate everything big clubs like HSV stand for.
These clubs and their supporters are at opposite ends of many different spectrums – be it politics, sport, or life in general. Resulting in a unique city derby with a vibe you won’t find anywhere else.
Your trip to Hamburg will be led by a lifelong HSV fan – who’ll show you this rivalry from the inside and take you on a football adventure like no other.
You’ll visit the best bars, food places, and hangouts where HSV fans prepare for derby day. And get an inside look at what happens when two very different neighbours collide.

Hamburg, which is the second biggest city of Germany, has been bombed during the second world war and been rebuild after that. This has caused the current state of the city which involves a lot of red bricks and cutting edge architecture. Besides that, the city is also hosting 2 of the greatest supported clubs in Germany. HSV is known as a high-quality club and gained 6 German championships over the years.
On the other end St Pauli their popularity isn’t gained by their on-field play as they usually compete in the second division or even lower. The contrasts aren’t being limited to what happens on the pitch, also off the pitch there are a lot of differences.
Whereas HSV fans are more focused on being a "right-wing" fan scene, St Pauli is known over the world as an "extreme leftwing" club, anti-establishment, and an anti-commercialist footballing oasis.

Today is the day we’ve all been waiting for!
Let's wake up everyone early, take a heavy breakfast (why not a few beers?), head to the stadium to soak up this magical derby atmosphere and get prepared for an intense football journey.
Prepare yourself well for an electric involving impressive tifo’s, huge amounts of pyro and loud singing, all fed by pure hatred towards each other from both sets of fans. This hatred has resulted in taunting banners such as ‘’Your values are almost as strong as your hooligans’’ – HSV or ‘’HSV: a love bought as easy as on the Reeperbahn’’.
After the match, it’s time to pack your luggage, start storytelling to your friends, post photos, maybe do a little more sightseeing (if you have a late return flight), say goodbye until next time, and of course, start planning your next trip with Homefans!
