Football is a pretty big deal here in the UK. Up north, Liverpool, Everton, Manchester United and Manchester City all play within roughly 30 miles of each other. However, Burnley which was founded in 1882, was one of the first Clubs, to become professional!
The Club already moved into their Stadium Turf Moor in 1883, with a capacity of nearly 22.000, which shows how important football was already 130 years ago. This means that you will be able to experience a historical sight, where many matches and seasons have been played. One of their biggest rivals is Blackburn Rovers, with whom they contest in the East Lancashire Derby. As two founding members of the Football League, this rivalry grew in stature in the late 1800s, as North Western teams dominated the English game. Whilst Burnley fans may have been disheartened by relegation to the Championship, there is one silver lining for the Clarets – a derby day against old foes Blackburn Rovers.
Another interesting fact is that Burnley changed their Club colours in 1910, to pay tribute to the Football League Champion at the time: Aston Villa. This great gesture of respect has been rarely seen elsewhere in the football world, which makes it even more fascinating!
This Package comes with long-side tickets, as well as 2 nights in a 3* hotel.
