Buenos Aires is a city with a deep passion for football, and it's home to some of the most iconic clubs in the world. From the historic Boca Juniors to the glamourous River Plate, Buenos Aires is a football lover's paradise.

Today is arrival day, people from all over the world will arrive today at different times. Regardless of that, if you have purchased the airport transfer as an add-on, we have arranged an airport transfer for all of you. A driver's assistant will be outside the customs area with a sign with your names, near the McDonalds in the main hall.

If you arrive in the afternoon, check-in and room will be ready. For arrivals in the morning, we will do our best to accommodate you, but please bear in mind will be upon availability. For the rest of the day, you can take it easy and recover from your long travels or explore the city!

Day 2 - Get to know this magnificent city! BA Bike Tour

Today will be dedicated to getting to know the city more and having a nice and cool city tour through the main sights... on a bike! You will visit many important spots in the city intertwined with football culture. One of the highlights is Caminito in Barrio de Boca, Boca Juniors colourful neighbourhood packed with amazing steak restaurants, tango shops, a Maradona famous double, and of course, La Bombonera!

Then, you can take a walk through Puerto Madero, a posh area where the river cross and has a lot of bars to hang out for a beer in the afternoon! After that, your local host will take you to the Recoleta Cemetery, a well-known attraction because of the size and important personalities buried there.

At night, do you fancy some steaks (of course) and wine? We can recommend some fantastic places in Buenos Aires for some of the best food and drinks in the city.

Day 3 - Boca Juniors Matchday Experience
Day 3 - Boca Juniors Matchday Experience

Dale Dale Bocaaaaaaaaaa!

The moment you all be waiting for. It is Boca Juniors day!

Get ready to tick one of the biggest clubs in Argentina of your bucket list! Make sure you have a full breakfast at the hotel and stretch your legs because it will be a long walking day.

The club we'll be supporting is Boca Juniors - who are known as the Xeneize or Bosteros. Boca is the most famous and widely supported team in Argentina and probably all of Latin America, also internationally well-known. They are the only team to have never been relegated from the top division and are synonymous with Argentinian greats like Diego Maradona and Juan Roman Riquelme. They hold 6 Libertadores Cups and one of their greatest achievements was winning the 2000 Intercontinental Cup against Real Madrid's Dream Team (Figo, Raúl, Casillas, Roberto Carlos, McManamann, etc.).

After being warmed up, we will be ready for some action. Local hosts will distribute your tickets and escort you to your gate. The stadium is always full and sold out, so we will hold our group tight and make our way to the seats. Once there, just make sure you enjoy the chants of "La 12", Boca Juniors well-known Ultras and get ready for the BEST day of your lives!

Day 4,5 & 6 - At Leisure for optional activities
Day 4,5 & 6 - At Leisure for optional activities

These are free days - but your local host will be able to recommend cultural tours and make bookings for you. You could visit Maradona's house or the Argentinos Juniors museum to learn more about the early days of Diego.

Or visit Pope Francis' beloved San Lorenzo. You may, based on your dates, be able go to some other matches. In the run up to your departure we will send you the options based on your travel dates.

If you want to see more in the city and do sightseeing you can explore Palermo Soho - This trendy neighborhood is known for its boutiques, restaurants, and street art. It's a great place to spend an afternoon browsing shops and soaking up the atmosphere.

Or take a day trip to Tigre - Just a short train ride from Buenos Aires, Tigre is a peaceful retreat from the hustle and bustle of the city. You can take a boat tour of the Delta del Paraná or stroll through the town's market.

Day 7 - River Plate Matchday Experience
Day 7 - River Plate Matchday Experience

Another day, another unforgettable Buenos Aires football match.

Today is the time for River Plate.

At El Monumental, you will get the full matchday experience. We will head to an area where the home fans gather to enjoy some beers and a burger and soak in the carnival-like pre match experience. Then your host leads us to the stadium where we take our seats for 90 minutes of pure football joy.

Day 8 (Optional) - Trip to Rosario and Newells Old Boys
Day 8 (Optional) - Trip to Rosario and Newells Old Boys

PLEASE NOTE - THIS OPTION CAN BE INCLUDED ON ANY FREE DAY IN THE ITINERARY IF SCHEDULES PERMIT.

We suspect to say, but this may be your best day in Argentina! At least the past travellers have said that. As an extra matchday experience, you will have the chance to make a road trip from Buenos Aires to Rosario to watch Newells Old Boys, get to know the behind the scenes and what football is like for them. Can't get any better than that?

In the early morning, around 8:00, we will meet in your hotel and bus ride to Rosario, with one pit stop on the motorway. Arriving there, a quick visit to the Monumento a la Bandera (Flag Monument), the city's most famous landmark.

In the afternoon, around 13-14h, a private Stadium Tour with early insider access to the Cancha before it closes for pre-game preparations.

After that, full lunch at Escauriza restaurant. Rosario is famous for its river fish Boga, Pacú Pacú and Surubí, and this is one of the best places to try them! There's also a traditional Argentine meat option if you prefer. The menu includes a starter, dessert and unlimited beer/soft drinks. Wine and any other drink is extra.

Around 16:00. we will visit the Bellavista and Malvinas complexes. The former is where the Newell's first team train, the latter is where the underage players play - and incidentally, a certain Lionel Messi is still the all-time top-scorer!

At 19:00 the pre-match game starts with beers in the park. Newell's Marcelo Bielsa stadium is also known as the Coloso del Parque (Colossus in the Park), as it is located in Parque Independencia, right in the middle of the city. This makes it even better to enjoy the pre-game atmosphere. If you are still hungry you can grab a choripán or bondiola (pork) sandwich and a beer.

Before the match, on the way in you can browse the NOB club shop before taking your seat in the same ground where Maradona played for 1 season, Bielsa managed for 2, and Messi will one day return to...

The stadium is always full of capacity and you can expect an amazing atmosphere! When it finished, it is time to go home and let your adrenaline crash on the bus home. We expect arrival at 4 am.

Day 9 (Optional) - Trip to Montevideo
Day 9 (Optional) - Trip to Montevideo

PLEASE NOTE - THIS OPTION CAN BE INCLUDED ON ANY FREE DAY IN THE ITINERARY IF SCHEDULES PERMIT AND BORDER RESTRICTIONS PERMIT. WE WILL SEND FULL DETAILS WHEN FIXTURES ARE RELEASED.

Today we have the chance to finish in style!

In the morning, we recommend taking the 7:30 hours early ferry to Montevideo, the capital of Uruguay. The city is small but with a vibrant atmosphere, home of amazing steaks, wines, the beautiful large avenues surrounded by many restaurants and bars and of course, football.

Montevideo is home of two giants in the South American football scenery: Peñarol and Nacional. From a sight to another, you can see graffiti and paintings representing both clubs, which makes the city very colourful. What definitely worth is to pay a visit at Estadio Centenário - stage of the first World Cup Final in 1930 and the Football Museum. Entrance costs around 5 euros. Another stadium that you can definitely go to is the Estadio Gran Parque Central, home of Nacional. Built-in 1900, is the oldest in South America.

The grand finale is the visit to Estadio Campeón del Siglo, home of Peñarol. Renovated in 2016, the arena is absolutely beautiful and very scary for the opponents. 40,000 hinchas supporting the black and yellow colours turns into a hell for other teams. You definitely wanna go there!

Day 10. Huracan, Argentinos Juniors or Velez Matchday Experience
Day 10. Huracan, Argentinos Juniors or Velez Matchday Experience

Are you up for more? Of course you are! Today may be Huracan, Argentinos Juniors, or Velez. Our local team will study the fixtures and decide what would be the most exciting matches for you to attend.

As normal this will be a full matchday experience. We will prepare for the match by gathering for some beer, burgers, and storytelling with your local host. This will take place in an area where the home fans gather and you will find a carnival-like pre-match experience.

Then your host leads us to the stadium where we take our seats for the main event. Enjoy another day of football and experience the true Argentinian football culture at one of these iconic clubs.

Day 11 - Time to Say Goodbye
Day 11 - Time to Say Goodbye

Unfortunately, the trip is coming to an end! Our drivers will be picking you up around 4 hours before the flight departure in front of the hotel. Please make sure you are on time. What does an UA trip include?

An Ultimate Argentina trip on the Homefans marketplace is a carefully hand-picked experience curated by Homefans and the local hosts in the destination to offer a unique sports experience through local eyes.

It usually includes the following:

  • 3 Matchday Experiences (ticket included)
  • Twin room accommodation in a 3* hotel
  • Trip Manager
  • Local Host per game
  • Airport Transfers
  • Pre-Match Experience with local fans
  • Pre-arranged activities

You have the option to book extra activities during your stay to make the most out of your trip. You can look up here or get in touch with us.

Will we have a trip manager for the duration of the trip?

For the duration of your stay in Buenos Aires you will have a dedicated trip manager with you in representation of Homefans.  He or she will be your first point of contact before the trip takes place and throughout your stay.

The trip manager will be on hand at a whatsapp message or a call throughout your stay to help you arrange any extra activities you’d like to book, and also to help you arrange airport transfers when the time comes.

How many people will be on the tour?

The maximum number of people allowed on the trip is stated above.

However,  this number may not always be met and it may even be possible that your party is on the tour on your own.

Higher numbers make for a more sociable experience, lower numbers make for more personalised attention from your host. Look at it as a win/win!

Can I change the included matches?

The included matches are final in order to keep the group together – they have been handpicked by Homefans and the local hosts to ensure the best experience.  However,  there are extra matches that could be added throughout your stay – we will be in touch to let you know about the best deals!

Where in the stadium will we be sitting?

If we know where you will be sitting, we always mention this is in the inclusions section for each club and host.

Unfortunately, we are not always able to tell you that at the time of booking. However, our trip manager and the local hosts work tirelessly to make sure you get the best seats.

We always aim for the long side of the home supporters section.

Can I extend my stay / upgrade my hotel?

Yes, you can extend your stay by clicking on the EXTRAS section at checkout, choosing the number of extra nights you wish to extend your stay.

The Ultimate Argentina and Superclásico trips have a 3* hotel as a standard.  For a hotel upgrade, please get in touch with Homefans and we will assist you in this matter at an extra cost.

Will I have to share a room?

In order to keep competitive prices,  the trips on the Homefans marketplace always offer prices based on 2 people sharing.

If you wish to stay on your own in a single room, you may pay a supplement for a guaranteed single room. This can be found on the extras section at checkout and you can add it to the booking. You can also get in touch with us to arrange this.

What happens if I cannot travel?

If you foresee that you cannot longer attend this trip, we appreciate if you let us know with time in advance.

According to our Terms & Conditions , if you tell us 45 days before the trip starts, we can keep your deposit and transfer it to another future trip or use it as credit.  The deposit payment is non-refundable and non-transferrable.

Why are there local hosts on the trips?

Homefans was created to address a pain point we experienced quite often. You travel abroad to watch a sporting event, yet once you arrive, you still feel like an outsider, with a lack of knowledge around the destination and the event.

The local hosts on the Homefans marketplace address this issue by becoming the local link to your trip. They enhance the experience completely, and create that necessary human connection – and will surely become friends in the future!

Big thanks to our great hosts, Valentin and Mariano from Homefans for providing us the best service there is. They helped us already before we went and all the way until we came back home. An unbelievable trip to the Mecca of football

My friend and I decided we wanted to visit Buenos Aires to watch real football. He discovered this trip. Initially, I was skeptical, thinking that we could just go by ourselves. I was wrong. Homefans truly put together an extraordinary trip. Three matches are included in the Ultimate Argentina experience. We attended around 9 or 10 matches in 11 days, all booked through Homefans. They arranged everything from transportation to tickets (which are not easy to obtain on your own in Argentina) to pre-match food and beer. The hosts were all outstanding, the stadiums and teams were all unique and special (unlike in Europe), and the atmosphere was incredible. Using Homefans is essential if you want to experience football in Buenos Aires. I will definitely use them again when I visit next time.

Mr

We had a fantastic time on the 10 day tour. Everything was so well organised and all the hosts were amazing. The football was an excellent experience, great to experience the biggys like Boca and River but also some of the smaller clubs like lanus and platense. Would definitely recommend, Great value for money!

My first experience with Homefans in Argentina

To visit some football games in Argentina was a dream and finally the dream came true. Without doubt the football culture in Argentina is the best in the world. The atmosphere in the stadiums are simply amazing. You can really see that football is maybe the most important thing in Argentina. To go with Homefans is a must if you go for the first time to a game in Argentina. To every game you go with a local host who arrange transfers, food and the most important thing: Tickets. All the games I went to with Homefans were a really good experience. The hosts were always really nice and they did their best to give you a typical Argentinian football game experience. They took their responsibilities that you got the transfers, got lot of information about the football club their support and it was always safe to go. For sure I want to go back again and it will be nice to meet the hosts I met there again!

Best Experience ever

We have already been to many competitions in Europe together, but the ultimate dream was Argentina. We looked forward to it for a long time and finally we could go. Actually, it could only be disappointing because our expectations were super high. However, these have been far surpassed. What a matches we have seen. The stadiums are really great, the atmosphere is fantastic. There is really nothing to compare it with in Europe. Everything was super organized. Big compliments to Homefans, all the hosts who guided us and especially Valentin. We saw nine matches in ten days and that is actually not even enough, you just want to see more. We are sad that it is already over. There are still so many clubs that you should actually go to. We are also sure that we will go again. Thanks to everyone from home fans, this was indeed The Ultimate Experience!!!

3 magical weeks with Homefans in the capital of football culture

At the start of 2020, I decided to return to South America to go to the holy grail for every lover of football culture: Buenos Aires. And although this trip had been my dream for over a decade and my expectations were mighty high, it still surpassed my expectations by a thousand miles. The Cinco Grandes, the smaller stadiums and the fecha de los clásicos; this journey had it all. If I knew I had only 3 weeks to live, I would purchase the Ultimate Argentina by Homefans again without thinking twice. A big word of thanks goes to Alvaro and Valentín, the Homefans trip managers in Buenos Aires. I am aware that my plan to see as many matches as possible was a tremendous challenge, but these guys managed to unburden me with their excellent service throughout the entire trip. They both deserve a wellness arrangement :). In addition, Alvaro and Valentín are more than just sales reps. They truly care about the travelers and they assure the complete Argentinian experience by joining us at a typical bar or restaurant for example. Can't thank you guys enough!

Ultimate Argentinië met Homefans

Inmiddels 4x met jullie op stap geweest. Het begon allemaal in maart 2019. De reis naar Buenos Aires met Home Fans. Iets wat ik als klein kind al heel graag wilde. Voetbal in Zuid-Amerika. 7 wedstrijden in 10 dagen. Een hele mooie ervaring. Met leuke en een goede gids. Tussendoor veel vrije tijd, om de stad te verkennen!

Experience of a lifetime

Went twice with Homefans. Football at its best. The most passionate football culture on Earth, in an unbelievable city of Buenos Aires. Visited multiple games, stadiums, and football neighbourhoods on both trips. Boca Juniors as a must and Racing Club left me speechless. Homefans even made it happen for us to watch a home match of San Lorenzo among the ultra supporters, in the safest and smoothest way possible. Well done Homefans! Not to mention our day trip to Montevideo and the Peñarol game in Libertadores we watched there. Also had a sufficient amount of free time to explore the city by myself, and made some new friends among the fellow travellers. Brilliant trip, can't wait to come back for my Argentina hat-trick. Shout out to the local hosts as well! Cheer!

An unbelievable trip to Argentina with Homefans

I went with homefans on a 10 day trip to Argentina, Buenos Aires. The football capital of the world an unforgettable journey through the Argentinian football culture from Boca juniors in La Bombenera to the champion Racing club. The first club of Diego Maradona Argentinos juniors or between ultras at San Lorenzo. It was an unforgettable trip, not to mention the Argentinian steaks, the trendy cafes in Palermon and the quilmes. All in all I have had the best experience ever thanks to Homefans.
