‘Will the coronavirus (Covid-19) affect my Homefans trip or any future trip?’ A lot of travellers have this question. We totally understand! Therefore we’ll keep you updated via this blog.

The safety of our Homefans travellers and community is of course the most important thing to us. We therefore keep a close eye on the current COVID-19 developments and the national football competitions mainly in Europe. We will never let you travel to an unsafe destination and only send you to destinations with positive travel advice.
The ongoing outbreak of the COVID-19 is, understandably, a concern for people around the world. For those with travel booked, or thinking about booking any football trip, there will likely be additional concerns and questions.
During uncertain times, flexibility and confidence can be invaluable, and we understand you might be apprehensive when it comes to booking a football adventure right now.
I am still considering booking a trip? What destinations would you recommend?
Are you considering a trip in the near future? You can secure your spot for any trip with just a 30% deposit instead of a full payment. Our South American journeys are not affected by the virus as of now and are staged in a couple of months’ time. Want to book a once in a lifetime adventure? Start saving for that dream trip!
We also offer a flexibile option for our trips, so in case your trip / destination is affected in the near future, you can move your deposit / full payment to another trip.
What is your advice if we are traveling to a country where the COVID-19 is active?
The most important measures you can take are actually very simple. These also apply, for example, to all viruses that can cause the flu and a cold. We have listed a few tips for you:
- Wash your hands regularly for at least 20 seconds;
- Keep a bottle of disinfection gel in your bag and use it regularly;
- Cough or sneeze on the inside of your elbow;
- Use paper handkerchiefs;
- Eat enough vegetables and fruit.
What if there is negative travel advice for my Homefans destination?
At this moment, there is negative travel advice for Italy, including the cities Milan and Rome. According to the travel guidelines, trips to these destinations can be canceled. For the rest of Italy, it’s advised not to travel there when it’s not necessary.
Trips to banned destinations can’t just be cancelled, but of course, we don’t want to send our travellers there. We’ll therefore personally contact each traveler to whom this applies to discuss the options together.
Whilst some insurance plans offer CFAR (Cancel for any reason) policies or cover pandemic outbreaks, many don’t, and, if they do, it’s usually offered as an add-on. We recommend checking that your current travel insurance policy allows you to make your journey and that you are adequately covered for all possible trip eventualities, including trip cancellation and curtailment. Our team will be more than happy to help if you have any questions about the right policy for you.
I don’t want to travel due to COVID-19. Will I receive compensation?
Our community is what matters most to us. In this line, we can, of course, move your deposit to a different destination or trip on request for the future. Please contact us for this so that we can view the best options for you.
There’s a large amount of information out there, some of it incredibly useful, and some of it less so. Travellers looking for more information should stick to local government advice and resources and check any travel restrictions that may affect the countries they plan on visiting or are transiting through.
We value our community of travelers, such as yourselves, and we hope you understand the situation is beyond our control. We are doing all the efforts to mitigate the consequences and continue providing unforgettable experiences!
