Nikos was a passionate host who immersed me straight into the history and culture of his club, Panathinaikos. He was ready to answer any question about the club and had a green and black T-shirt ready for me of his supporter's section. A nice touch.
We first met closer to the city center near the Panathinaikos FC ground to talk team history, visit their volleyball arena, and eat souvlaki while watching the football club on TV before driving to the basketball arena for the game. We arrived 90 minutes early to the sight of chants, flares, and a sea of green ready for tip off. Great scene! The chants continued throughout the game, despite a Panathinaikos loss. I could feel why a Panathinaikos game is considered the top atmosphere in European basketball.
Nikos was accommodating throughout the experience between food and drink, transportation, and the ticketing process. I am looking forward to connecting with Nikos in the future for another sporting event.
