Hi! My name is Daniel but people call me Dan. I was born and bred in Argentina and I've been an independiente supporter since I was little.
I grew up in a neighbouring town so me and my dad went to see Independiente on a regular basis every weekend during the 80's and 90's. Some of the country's greatest players have played for the Red Devils, and it would also be fair to say that the club have had some of the best ever teams in the history of the Argentine game.
Independiente is one of Argentina's biggest clubs and the only one that boasts 7 Libertadores Cups. Bochini, one of the most iconic players in Argentina, was recently awarded the one man club award in Bilbao after spending 25 years in the club. He was Maradona's pass master and was praised by 'El Diego' many times calling him 'Maestro'.
Independiente is also home to Sergio 'Kun' Aguero who started his football career in the club.
Avellaneda is also home to the biggest derby in Argentina after the so called Superclásico. Independiente and archrivals Racing Club provide one of the most exciting matches in the Argentine fixture.
