We are Vero and Jesi for “La Pampa y La Via Tours”, and together with Juan ( Juan_I) we will discover Villa Crespo , a middle-class neighborhood in Buenos Aires, located in the geographical center of the city.
The streets of Villa Crespo are adorned with many murals and charismatic stencils made by international and local artists.
A burgeoning foodie hot spot, a typical Tango Porteño neighborhood, the lively Villa Crespo is located just southwest of Palermo, has become a fashionable haunt for the city’s youth. The district is most notable for its array of bars and eateries.
After a walk-through Villa Crespo, we are going to visit the surroundings of Club Atletico Atlanta whose yellow and blue colors, were chosen from the awnings that decorated the neighborhood’s stores in early years. Since the team lacked an official home stadium for its first six decades, it was nicknamed “Los Bohemios”, as the team would wander from place to place forced to play “home” games in other team’s stadiums.
The team stadium, “Don León Kolbovsky”, is a tribute to the man who presided over the club when the stadium began to be built and has a capacity of 34,000. The club is often associated with the Jewish community because of the historical support of Jews in the area of Villa Crespo.
